Rose Calathea
Calathea roseopicta
Calathea roseopicta is a walking argument for why foliage plants can be just as dramatic as flowering ones. Its large, rounded leaves display a deep green background with vivid pink and silvery-white markings that genuinely look hand-painted, and the undersides are a rich purple that shows as a dark outline around the patterned top surface. The species name roseopicta translates from Latin as 'rose-painted,' and whoever named it was not exaggerating. Like all prayer plants, it folds its leaves upward each night and opens them each morning.
